Recognizing the struggle that the local community faces amidst COVID-19, Allied Telecom launched its “Serving Our Community” stewardship program with a donation to Food For All DC. The grant constitutes a partnership that will allow the D.C.-based nonprofit to distribute nearly 100 free care packages to people that struggle to feed themselves throughout the nation’s capital.
“Giving back to our community and helping our neighbors in a time of need is an important part of our philosophy at Allied Telecom,” said Ken Williams, founder and CEO of Allied Telecom. “Nonprofits are the backbone of our community, and we are proud to make Food For All DC our first partner in Allied’s new ‘Serving Our Community’ program.”
Food For All DC was chosen as Allied’s first partner based on its history of helping those in the D.C. community, which includes:
- Grocery delivery on a regular basis to households city-wide.
- A history of dedication to D.C. residents since its 1984 inception.
- Services to more than 1,300 largely homebound clients each week, most of which cannot procure groceries for themselves.
- A focus on providing nutritious food to people with disabilities, the elderly, and single mothers.
- Representing a meaningful opportunity for volunteers, who interact directly with clients in a positive social exchange.
“We are honored and grateful to Ken Williams and the people of Allied Telecom for selecting Food For All DC as their first partner in their ‘Serving Our Community’ campaign,” said Peter Sage, executive director of Food For All DC. “Allied’s donation will help D.C.-area residents at a time when they need it most. It is wonderful to see Allied building connections in our community with its new stewardship program.”
“Serving Our Community” represents Allied’s drive to support the people and organizations that make a positive impact on life in the Washington, D.C. area. To nominate a local nonprofit organization for consideration, message Allied Telecom on social media @AlliedTelecom.
