Arlington, VA – Allied Telecom Group (Allied), a leading provider of broadband and UCaaS solutions, announced that Trey Webb has been named as Chief Executive Officer.
Over the last 25 years, the Founding CEO, Ken Williams, has taken the necessary steps to put Allied in a solid position to be competitive in the marketplace and provide stellar services to our clients. Naming Trey Webb as Allied’s latest CEO is nothing short of that. “I’m finally ready to step out of the day-to-day and spend my time serving as a brand ambassador and strategic advisor to the business. I’m excited to announce, effective immediately that I am moving into the role of Chairman and Founder with Trey Webb becoming CEO. Ricardo Brooks has done a great job as Allied’s COO these last three years and will continue in that role as we enter this next exciting chapter. I have tremendous confidence in our leadership team’s ability to shepherd us through this exciting transition.”
“In my opinion, Trey possesses the right combination of business savvy, technical acumen, and compassionate leadership necessary to take Allied to the next level. When I couple that with his proven dedicated service at Allied over the last 10 years from NOC Analyst to CIO, it is a recipe for success,” said Brooks.
According to Allied’s Director of Account Management, EK Ume, “Trey has proven himself to be a leader, a mentor, an encourager, and an individual determined to bring out the best in those around him.” Ume, himself a 14-year veteran at Allied, continued by saying, “I have seen Trey grow in leaps and bounds as a servant leader within Allied … Trey is willing to make the necessary sacrifices and tough decisions that enable and promote a Team First culture where working together, we are ALL able to achieve more.”
According to Duncan Moss, Head of Digital Marketing, MPOWER Financing, “Trey brings a winning mix of leadership and technical skills to make Allied the technical solution provider of choice for the Mid-Atlantic. Trey pushes his teams to deliver exceptional customer service and Grade A Products and Services that show Allied customers they are working with a trusted technology partner who will support and grow with them, whatever it takes.”
About this opportunity, Webb said, “I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as Allied’s Chief Executive Officer. Having worked here in various roles over the last decade, I know what we are capable of and have the utmost confidence in our team’s ability to adapt for the future. We will pivot our existing, established company brand to a fresh new brand with a bold premise: Our product is a frictionless client experience focused on our clients’ successful, cost-effective, and safe use of technology to achieve their business objectives and organizational missions.” Webb said those technologies include managed IT, cyber-security, broadband, and unified communications.
Over the years, Webb’s influence on Allied has included the creation of a Product Management organization, the launch of a strategic Managed Services business division, and building an IT Team that became the blueprint for the new managed services offerings. Webb was also part of a tiger team to address expense management challenges, resulting in the reduction of $200k monthly expense netting $1.7 million saving for the company. Organizationally, his accomplishments include organizing and mentoring employee groups centered on improving company culture, building the foundation for an award-winning support organization, and the successful negotiation of vendor contracts for software and network infrastructure initiatives. From a technology perspective, Webb has led the engineering organization data and voice services, including engineering and product teams and the deployment of the NGN and NGN 2.0 – a $2 million network overhaul to support multi-hundred-gigabit network infrastructure and services.
