Allied Telecom is pleased to be named as one of Washington SmartCEO’s 2016 Corporate Culture Award winners. The Corporate Culture Awards celebrate 50 companies in Greater Washington which have successfully championed a positive, productive and performance-driven culture that empowers employees to do what is best for their customers.
As a single source provider of Internet, voice and data services to businesses across the Washington DC Metro Area, Allied prioritizes exceptional client experience – enabled by creating an empowering and collaborative environment with corporate initiatives that acknowledge and reward employees for excellence in service.
“At Allied, we believe that a customer-first attitude comes from all employees,” said Allied’s COO JD Darby. “Open communication and a shared sense of mission across every level of the company promotes a unified, customer-focused culture. All business success flows from there.”
To better align the impact of individual and team roles with the achievement of company-wide objectives, Allied implemented the social performance management platform Work.com as a tool to engage, align, coach, and recognize its workforce. A quarterly employee newsletter fosters a sense of community and keeps all departments up-to-date on projects on which other teams are working. Additionally, to keep employees motivated, connected, and giving back, Allied offers programs such as a “Workplace Giving & Matching” charitable donation matching program, regular happy hour and game night social events, and an annual “AlliedFest” fall picnic for employees and their families.
“The 2016 Corporate Culture Award winners have realized that running a company is more than head count and the bottom line. It’s about creating a place where creativity, energy and ideas are cultivated. Through this they are able to not only enhance performance and sustain their companies’ competitive advantages but also enrich the lives of those they employ and inspire them to make a greater impact on the world,” says Jaime Nespor-Zawmon, President of SmartCEO. “We’re honored to celebrate with the leaders of Washington’s top company cultures and recognize them for building true performance-driven cultures.”
As a winner, Allied will be profiled in the November/December issue of SmartCEO magazine and celebrated at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at the Fillmore Silver Spring. You can see a complete list of winners here.
